About ME

Jillian Anthony is a journalist in New York City. She is the editor of Time Out New York, as well as the author of the sex and dating column Let Us Sex-plain. She regularly appears on NBC News. Her work has been published at Conde Nast Traveler, CNNMoney, Manhattan magazine, Los Angeles magazine, GOOD magazine, USAToday and other websites and publications. She has interviewed Joan Rivers, Roxane Gay, Dr. Ruth, Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York, the Sartorialist, Julie Klausner and many more.

In 2015 she published a zine—along with her best friend from her graduate program at Syracuse University—called Just Visiting, containing stories from places that are not home. She is originally from California and still pines for the beach, but fills her time in New York with improv, feminist books, long walks in Prospect Park and gazing at her cat, Minerva. She once got her septum pierced on Facebook Live.
